Here are the STEPS for Rooting SAMSUNG GALAXY Y GT-S5360:
1. First of all charge your phone battery more than 80% to be on safe-side because you to do lots of things.2. Backup your Apps, contacts, messages and other things you wants. You can take backup by using App SuperBackup which is available on PlayStore.
3. Now on your computer download update.zip file and copy it to your phone SD card. Do not copy it any folder and don’t extract it.
4. Now switch off your Galaxy y Phone.
5. Boot your phone in recovery mode by pressing Volume Up+Home Button+Power button and keep holding all the button until the Samsung Logo appears. Now you will see some lines of text in red colour and your screen touch wont work now (Don’t Panic). Only your Volume , Home and Power button will work. Volume button is used to go up and down. Home button is used select the options and Power button is used to go back to previous screen.
6. Navigate to option “Apply update from SD card” using volume key and select it by pressing home key.
7. Now choose the update.zip file using volume and home key.
8. Some text will scroll on the screen.
9. After that a screen will appear having the option “Reboot system now”. Select that option to reboot your phone and be patient n wait for your Galaxy y to switch ON. It may take longer time than normally it takes.
10. When Galaxy Y is ON check Apps and if you see the app Superuser is present, it means your Galaxy Y is rooted successfully.
11. Now open App superuser and update the binaries.
